Karen Johnson
More than 30 years combined proficiency in Los Angeles/Denver/Columbus, OH radio news anchoring and traffic reporting covering breaking news with articulation, conversational copy and flawless delivery. Karen has also worked with the NBC Radio Network. Fearless and fast-thinking… I have to be… I’m married to a rocket scientist and my first-born son is one too, my middle-born son is a financial engineer – hedge funds – and, my youngest son is an accountant. I like to refer to our assortment of talents where spreadsheets and sheets of news copy thrive together!
Lisa Rodman
Lisa started her news radio career in New Orleans. She’s a 39-year veteran Program Director for music-oriented stations who has returned to her first love, news. Lisa was born in New Orleans. Her first radio gig was at the age of 14 in the Bayou’s of Louisiana. By the time she was 17, Lisa was providing news and traffic reports for multiple New Orleans radio and TV stations. At 23 Lisa decided to go behind the scenes of radio and try her hand at programming. After 24 successful years as Program Director of radio stations including WZRH, WYCD, WDRQ, WZJM and WOMC, Lisa decided to follow her passion and return to news. Lisa joined VirtualNewsCenter® in June of 2014.
Peter Killeen
20 year radio news veteran. Morning anchor of radio stations in Albany NY, Harrisburg, PA and Wilmington DE. Peter’s not one to waste words…
Darrell Moody
Darrell Moody began his career in radio news in 2007, working for the Florida News Network and WFLF in Orlando, Florida as a reporter and anchor. Since then, he’s worked for Total Traffic Network as a news/traffic/sports anchor, wire writer, and helicopter videographer. For several years, he hosted the public affairs show Focus Orlando on WORL, WTLN, and WBZW. Darrell also worked for WDBO as an anchor, reporter, and host receiving the Florida Associated Press Broadcasters Large Market Radio Reporter of the Year for 2016 and 2017. He was a finalist for the same award in 2018. Darrell currently works part-time for Virtual News Center as a reporter covering multiple stations in multiple markets.
Jared Cerullo
Jared has had news in his blood since he was a teenager. He has a 21-year track record in all facets of radio and television news reporting and anchoring, including breaking news, severe weather coverage, and traffic reporting.
After beginning work at KFDI Radio in Wichita, KS, at the age of 19, Jared has since expanded his reporting experience into television, as well. He worked at KFDI News for 14 years before moving to the ABC TV affiliate in Wichita, where he worked for seven years. Jared joined the VirtualNewsCenter® staff in June, 2014, and is glad to be back in radio.
Veronica Carter
Veronica’s been in a newsroom for over 20 years, moving to the Chicago area in 2005. In addition to Virtual News Center Veronica continues on-air in Chicago.
Veronica was born in Santa Cruz, but her parents moved to a tiny town almost to the Oregon border. One of those towns where the only thing to do is cruise Main Street or go paint the class numbers on the hill above the city. After high school and JR college she had the fever to move to a big city. She packed up and moved to Sacramento where she enrolled in college to be a psychological profiler for the FBI — think “C.S.I”. Sacramento’s long gone, but the news bug isn’t.
Roxanne Stuart
Currently based in Kansas, Roxanne Stuart has worked all over the U.S. and has been in radio for four decades. She’s worked in a variety of formats and sizes of markets, large and small, and prides herself on getting to know the communities she serves. Whether it’s on-air, in the newsroom, production, voice work, sales, or management, Roxanne has deep and strong experience and enjoys the challenge of serving her communities and listeners every single day.
Mark Wilson
Mark Wilson has been in the radio industry for over 25 years. Growing up in Michigan, his first exposure to news radio was WWJ News Radio 950. While in College at Wayne State University, Mark was an intern at WWJ as well as the Top 40 WHYT. After graduation, Mark was hired at WHMI 93.5 where he spent the next 25 years as a radio host as well as reporting on weather, traffic, sports, news, and entertainment. Mark left WHMI in January of 2022 and joined the team at Virtual News Center. Mark is married, has three children, and a household full of pets.
JP bZet
JP bZet was born in Cleveland, Ohio and raised in Spokane, Washington where he graduated from Mead High School and RB School of Broadcasting. Since 1980, his communications career at numerous radio stations in the northwest spanned 35+ years; as an On-air Personality, Program Director, Production Director, Copywriter, Operations Manager and Sales Associate. He has also written a screenplay and a country song. In between radio ‘gigs’ JP was employed in construction, marketing, numerous sales jobs, manufacturing rep, and business owner. He even had a business owner, where he was employed, tell him he was ‘too honest’, as if that’s even possible. JP is excited to be part of the Virtual News Center.
Brandon Dickson
Brandon is a Winston-Salem, North Carolina native and alumnus of Appalachian State University. He’s been working in broadcasting since 2006 as a news director, host, anchor, reporter, and producer. He also has experience in television and sports. He’s currently the midday news anchor for WBT Radio in Charlotte, NC.
